What comes after the Yoto

Peko Pal keeps the stories they love, and lets them talk to people too.

Peko Pal is a screen-free first device for kids 3 to 12, the step between a Yoto and a phone. It plays the stories, podcasts and music they're used to, with no cards to carry or lose. And it gives them their own way to talk with the grandparents, cousins and friends you approve.

Why Peko Pal is the next step after a Yoto

  • They get to talk to people

Kids love their stories. They need people too. Voice or text messages and calls with the grandparents, cousins and friends you approve, and a walkie-talkie for the sibling down the hall.

  • No cards to carry or lose

Stories live on the device. They pick one with the arrows and press play, in the car, at Grandma's or on a plane.

  • Stories that answer back

In interactive books, they hold the button mid-story and ask a question. Peko knows the story and answers, without spoiling the ending.

  • Still no screen

Buttons and sound, just like they're used to. You set it all up and keep the guardrails in the Peko Pal app.

Far more than a player

Stories are just the start. You add apps from the Peko Pal app, and new ones keep arriving.

Lessons on any topic

Type a topic and a goal in the Peko Pal app, from times tables to why the seasons happen. Peko finds out where your child is by asking, and teaches from there.

How Lessons work

Make it, then print it

With AI turned on, your child can ask Peko for a coloring page, a story or a calendar, then say "print it" and it comes out of your printer at home.

How printing works

Which one fits your family

  1. Yoto Player

Stay with a Yoto if listening is all they need for now.

  2. Peko Pal

Choose Peko Pal when they're ready to talk with friends and family on their own, but not ready for a screen.

  3. A phone

Get a phone or smartwatch when they need to reach you away from home, or you need to see where they are. Peko Pal has no GPS and no cellular radio.

Questions parents ask

What comes after a Yoto?
Peko Pal is made to be that next step. It keeps the stories, podcasts and music, and adds what kids start asking for next: talking to people. Voice or text messages and calls with friends and family you approve, a walkie-talkie, more apps, and optional AI. There's still no screen.
Is Peko Pal a Yoto alternative?
It can be, and plenty of families keep both. Peko Pal plays stories and podcasts with no cards, and adds the part a listening player doesn't do: talking to people.
Does Peko Pal have as many stories as a Yoto?
Not yet. Yoto has a much bigger library. Peko Pal has a growing collection of stories, plus podcasts and radio stations you choose, and new ones keep arriving.
Can my child message grandparents without a phone?
Yes. Grandparents and friends without a Pal use the Peko Pal app on their iPhone or iPad, and your child's voice or text messages arrive there. You approve every contact.
Does Peko Pal work away from home?
Stories and podcasts are stored on the device, so they play anywhere. Messages, calls, radio and AI need Wi-Fi, and the walkie-talkie works between nearby Pals with no Wi-Fi at all.
What do I need to set it up?
An iPhone for the Peko Pal app and a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Android isn't supported yet.
