Peko Bot
Hold the button, talk to Peko, and hear it talk back.
Your child holds the button, asks or says something, and Peko answers out loud. Peko can also run the Pal for them — hear new messages from friends, open an app, start a story, or turn the volume down — just by asking, with no buttons to navigate. It is an AI app: their voice is sent over the internet while they talk, so it needs Wi-Fi. You choose what Peko knows about your child and what it's allowed to do, and you can monitor conversations and usage from the iOS app.

What it does
- Push-to-talk conversation. Hold the button to ask a question or tell Peko something, let go to hear the answer.
- Use the Pal by voice. Instead of finding things with the buttons, your child can just ask Peko to open an app, play a story or podcast, or change the volume or brightness.
- Messages from friends. Peko tells your child when friends have sent something new, reads it out, and can help send a reply.
- Made for kids. Peko keeps answers short, kind and age-appropriate, steers away from topics you choose, and only searches the web with a kid-safe filter.
- You're in control. Switch off messaging, calls, web search, memory or app control, one at a time, from the iOS app.
- Instant barge-in. Press the button again while Peko is still talking to interrupt it and ask something new right away.
- Natural spoken replies. Answers come back as real speech in a fraction of a second, powered by a cloud AI.
- Expressive LED feedback. The light ring shows listening, thinking, and speaking so your child always knows what's happening.
- Parents stay in the loop. Keep an eye on conversations and usage from the iOS app.
For parents
This is Peko's talk-to-the-AI experience. Your child holds the button, asks or says something, and lets go — Peko answers out loud a moment later.
Peko Bot also makes the Pal much easier to use. Instead of navigating with the buttons, your child can just ask — to hear new messages from friends, open an app, start a story, or turn the volume down.
What Peko knows about your child: only what you enter in your child's settings in the iOS app. That's their name and age, anything you write under "What Peko Knows" (like interests or siblings), their city or ZIP code for the weather, and your Pal's name. All of it is shared with the AI so it can talk to your child as themselves. Leave a field blank to keep it out, or turn off "Call [name] by Name".
How Peko keeps it safe: Peko is instructed to keep every answer short, kind and age-appropriate, and to gently change the subject if something isn't right for kids. List anything you'd rather it avoid under "Topics to Avoid", and Peko will steer away instead of lecturing. When Peko looks something up, both the question and the answer go through a safety check, and Peko never opens websites. It only contacts friends you've approved, and it reads a message back to your child before sending it.
You decide what Peko can do. The iOS app has a separate switch for each of these: reading and sending messages, calling friends, helping add new friends, kid-safe web search, remembering recent conversations, listening history, and opening apps and settings.
Please know: while your child is holding the button, their voice is streamed live over the internet to a cloud AI service so it can generate a reply — it is not processed only on the device, and it does not work offline. This app requires WiFi.
You can monitor your child's conversations and usage with Peko Bot from the iOS app.
